Freak Power-1995-Turn on, tune in, cop out [Maxi Cd]

"Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" was the biggest hit single for Norman Cook's dance-jazz group Freak Power, released in 1993 as a single. The song features a smooth jazz sound and the baritone vocals of lead singer Ashley Slater. The single originally wasn't very well-received, at least not commercially, only making number 29 in the United Kingdom. However, two years later, the song was used in the popular Levi's advertisement "Taxi" and re-released in early 1995. This time, the single was a huge success, reaching number 3 on the UK Singles Chart and was the only hit single for the group, but they still reached the Top 30 one more time in 1998.

Freak Power-1998-No way [12inch]

Freak Power were a band founded by Norman Cook, Ashley Slate (the trombonist with the anarchic British jazz big band Loose Tubes), and Jesse Graham aka the Bass Cadet. Their music was a mix of acid jazz with funk and soul, as well as trip-hop. "No way" is their last single released in May 1998 and reached #29 in the UK. Here is 12inch "No way" with three excellent mixes.
