Macy Gray-1999-Do something [Maxi Cd]
"Do Something" is the lead single from Macy Gray's debut album On How Life Is, released in 1999. The song samples OutKast's 1994 song "Git Up, Git Out" and Nice & Smooth's 1989 song "Funky for You", therefore it contained no less than seventeen co-writers including Gray herself. In the United Kingdom, "Do Something" became Gray's first charting hit on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number fifty-one there, however, it remains her lowest charting single there to date. "Do Something" failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 but managed to peak at number forty-three on the Hot Dance Singles Sales chart. "Do Something" was released on two CD formats in the UK. The CD single contained remixes of "Do Something", including collaborators such as Cee-Lo of Gnarls Barkley along with a non-album track, "Rather Hazy".
This blog is dedicated to vinyl lovers, Dj's and people who love music!!!! Time has come to remember some of the great songs and artist in 80's and 90's.
